James E. Baugh, Jr.

Summary

I am a Certified ScrumMaster with over ten years of experience in business analysis, project and emergency management, product development, research and technical writing. As a product owner familiar with multiple software development methodologies and technology stacks, I work as part of a product team to ensure we are building the right thing, building the thing right and building it quickly.

My experience and core skills are centered on helping teams deliver superior products on time and within budget in an Agile environment. In my role as an Agile evangelist, I have helped teams and organizations make the transition from stage-gated processes such as Waterfall, to Agile frameworks that match their particular needs and goals. Working with product management and development teams, I have helped them overcome the technical and non-technical implementation hurdles that often emerge in such a transition. The net result has been to align development to the business goals, increase value to the customer while improving software quality and speed to market. Though every company and situation is different, I am passionate about Agile and how it can help improve processes and increase value to the customer and company.

I obtained my CSM through LitheSpeed in a class by Sanjiv Augustine at Agile East 2013. I am passionate about applying Agile methodologies and learning to be an effective team player and coach in order to help others learn and use Agile techniques.
